Miracles in the modern day!

June 24th, 2008

Unbelievable! Many people argue that miracles no longer happen. Last night one did occurr. But how do miracles happen? The answer is often very simple - they happen through people. To us the gift of a wheel chair converted van from the Roberts family was one such miracle.

It was said during last night’s Lions Club Meeting that this presentation was the most significant one they had seen in the clubs history.

It is a story of sorrow and joy. The van was purchased less than two years ago for a father who had suffered a freak accident while keeping fit. He was clipped by car in Penrith which caused him to fall from his bike and damage his kneck. Not long after Father’s Day this year, he passed away due to complications of the injury. Mrs Roberts saw the newspaper article and was moved, deciding to donate the van. After some facilitation from Cambridge Park Lions club, last night came about.

Personally, I was overwhelmed, it felt as though someone else was there and not me. I could not believe it. I had to drive it around the block. This morning my wife looked out the window to make sure it was real. It certainly was.

Sam just Got Wheels!!!

June 16th, 2008

Miracle VanIn an amazing turn of events, Sam will get his van real soon! It is fully converted by Freedom motors so he should be able to wheel in and drive away. We are overwhelmed by the incredible gift of a local family. Miracles do still happen, they happen through people. We are indeed humbled!

We will finish off the events that have started for a wheelchair and other needs that will come up soon. A trust account is being created for Sam with these needs in mind.

Update 23/06/08 -  The van will be presented tonight at the Kingswood Sporting Club.

May 26th, 2008

The night went off without a hitch and we got a decent turnout with plenty of orders still to come in. All profit made from sales go to the Wheels for Sam Fund.

On the news front, we have someone who is is looking at doing a huge walk for Samuel and some other interesting foundations that might help out with funding. Looks promising for Sam’s Wheels!
